The Music - Stevie Wonder blasts out "A Place in the Sun" on live TV

and before my life is done, got to find me a place in the sun

It's the beautiful, and oft-covered (even Glen Campbell took a shot at it!), "A Place in the Sun" by Little Stevie.

The single was released back in 1966 on the Motown label. The song later appeared on Stevie's sixth studio album, Down to Earth.

Written by Ronald Miller and Bryan Wells, this was one of Wonder's first songs to contain social commentary, centered in the aspiration "there's a place in the sun where there's hope for everyone."

"A Place in the Sun" was Stevie's third Top Ten hit, reaching #9 on the Billboard pop singles chart and # 3 on the R&B charts.

Oddly, Stevie Wonder also recorded a version of the song in Italian titled "Il Sole è di Tutti" (The Sun is for Everyone).

Stevie here delivers "A Place in the Sun" on some US entertainment show, in 1966.
