Art of the Cover - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds "Give Us a Kiss" (2014)

Nick Cave is the subject of an impending new film called 20,000 Days on Earth - a semi-factual, oft-fantastical look into the Bad Seeds/Grinderman frontman's life.

Directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, the forthcoming pseudo-documentary assembles fictionalized, largely unscripted scenes from Cave's 20,000th day on Earth.

To tie in with the film's release, Cave and the Seeds have released the previously-unrecorded cut "Give Us a Kiss".

The B-side is a live version of "Jubilee Street" - the original song having been a highlight of 2013's acclaimed Push the Sky Away.

"Give Us a Kiss" was recorded during the sessions for Push The Sky Away but - very bizarrely - did not make the final cut for the album.

It's a haunting, ethereal beast; a tale of obsessive lust climaxing with the ambiguous, foreboding line “if you want me to burn, I will”.
