Art of the Cover - Interpol's "Turn On The Bright Lights" (2002)

I had seven faces; thought I knew which one to wear

Beautiful artwork adorns one of the greatest debut LPs of recent years.

Yap, it's the sublime and seminal "Turn On The Bright Lights" from, what seems like yesterday, but actually 2002.

This fine album was released to a great deal of critical acclaim. It also sold exceptionally well for an indie release.

Musically, many have pointed out the similarities between Turn on the Bright Lights and post punk /new wave bands such as Joy Division and The Chameleons. There are influences, sure, but Interpol manage to make a work that's distinct and of their own.
