Art of the Cover - Manic Street Preachers' "This Is the Day" (2011)

A nice close-up shot of the delicious National Treasures behattedbrass band, babe, adorns this limited edition single.

As a bonus item to their comprehensive, 38-track, singles collection National Treasures, Manic Street Preachers recorded a brand-new single: an interesting cover of the classic “This Is The Day”.

"This Is the Day" was written by Matt Johnson and originally released as a single by his band The The in September 1983. A version of the song was included on the band's debut album, the mighty Soul Mining, released later that year.

In September 2011, "This Is the Day" was covered by the Manic Street Preachers as a single to promote their National Treasures – The Complete Singles compilation album.

The CD single was available only as a limited edition with the CD/DVD version of National Treasures.
