Fucking hell! ... This hurts, just watching it!
Whoul'd've ever thought there could be bad blood between a Croatia and a Serbian?!
Yap, during last night's World Cup playoff match in Serbia (with ten minutes from time and with the score deadlocked a 1-1), Croatian centre-back Josip Simunic provided a moment of raw brutality ten minutes from time when he decided Miralem Sulejmani’s internal organs ought to be rearranged via some sort of quasi kung-fu assault!
As the ball broke from the Serb area, following a corner, Serbian player Sulejmani collected it and began galloping up the pitch. Simunic, realising he was the last man, wound himself up and completely wiped out the Benfica forward with a spectacular assault - sorry, tackle - so powerful it sent both players spiralling in the air!
Unsurprisingly, Simunic was shown a straight red card for his troubles.
The match ended 1-1 with both sides ending the night with ten men as Serbia had already had Nemanja Matic sent off by this point!
